The annual David Skinner Memorial Lecture will be taking place on Wednesday the 23rd of October from 7pm in the Main Lecture Theatre at Edinburgh College of Art.
Johanna Gibbons is a Fellow of the Landscape Institute, Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, and Honorary Research Fellow in the Department of Geography at Birkbeck University London. Johanna was trained at ECA under David Skinner and founded her Landscape Architecture practice in 1986. She is also founding Director of Landscape Learn, a social enterprise established in 2016 to advance a wider understanding and appreciation of natural processes and the landscapes we inhabit. Johanna is also a member of various design advisory panels including Historic England’s Historic Places Panel and the Forestry Commission’s Forestry and Woodland Advisory Panel.
During her presentation, Johanna Gibbons will be sharing reflections on how to work, teach and research in the context of the climate emergency.
